They explained everything clearly before the dive. The equipment was good, and I felt safe during the dive. There were great shipwreck sights, and it was an amazing experience. Sprzęt w nie najgorszym stanie, chociaż ja dostałem już ewidentnie dziuraw� i zużyt� piankę za co muszę odebrać gwiazdkę. Byliśmy grup� kilku certyfikowanych nurków i kilku dsd i wszyscy byli zadowoleni. Sami instruktorzy/divemaster dobrze opiekowali się grup� i starali się pokazać najciekawsze elementy wraku. Wrak Thermopylae Sierra jest naprawdę ciekawy i warto go zobaczyć. Z sugestii zmian, to jednak dziurawe pianki wypadałoby już wymienić a woda zabierania na pokład powinna być z jednorazowych butelek, bo niestety pomimo bycia bardziej ekologicznymi wielorazowe butelki budz� niepewność co do higieny.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. There are 18 ship wrecks in Colombo around the coast. We dived at Sierra, Cargo, Salviva, Medhufaru, Coal Barge. Loved Sierra the most for all the swim throughs and fish life. Other wrecks also had good sea life. We dived with Vinu and Brice and had a great time. They are both excellent guides and took good care of us. We also did the deep speciality with Brice and it was really good.

The team is accomplished and very helpful. I and my son dived for 2 days with them. The first day we dived with Ishan and the next day with Vinu. Bruice who runs the place also very hospitable and nice. We loved diving and Ishan was very calm and gave very good tips on improving my buoyancy. Overall an excellent diving experience and we look forward for many more dives with Island Scuba team. Keep up the good work guys

As a diver-owned-and-operated PADI Dive Center based in Colombo (November-April) and Trincomalee (May-October), Island Scuba has focused on providing high quality, professional diving services while still maintaining a fun, relaxed vibe since 2012. Our team consists of dive professionals, marine scientists and underwater photographers, with extensive knowledge about diving around Sri Lanka as well as experience in other countries, and as a testament to our unique knowledge and professionalism, we have also worked with several international film crews and private yachts. We offer a full array of diving services, from introductory programs for beginners, to certification courses and, of course, daily dive trips for certified divers. Expérience inoubliable, à ne pas manquer sur colombo J’ai eu l’occasion de faire un baptême avec Brice comme instructeur. La sécurité est une priorité, avec une formation en français adaptée pour les débutants . Brice est très pédagogue et j’étais détendu pour profiter de cette expérience. À faire absolument sur Colombo. Je recommande vivement!

Excellent Diving Experience with Island Scuba I did 2 x wreck dives with Island diving and they were really good. Excellent local knowledge very efficient and even helped me with my injury. Although I was fine to dive I had an Achilles Tendon Op in August so I had to be careful with carrying my tank, weight-belt etc. They helped me in every way possible and accommodated me. The diving was excellent and I can highly recommend diving with Island Scuba.

Good diving experience in Trincomalee Stayed in Trinco Blu in Trincomalee and came across their dive center. Did 2 dives with them. I was diving after 3 years gap. They made me feel comfortable. Did my first dive which was low depth, easier at Navy Rock. Ishan was helpful and patient in helping me do the documentation and set-up. Brice was exceptionally good both in the water and outside with his detailed briefing of both the dive sites. Taking away 1 star because in the 2nd dive the main regulator had water leaking and I panicked a little bit. Brice of course helped me switch to alternate regulator. All in all - great experience. Will recommend them.

Highly recommend Island Scuba and Shan! I came to Nilaveli to dive after a gap of 6 years since my open water certification and was feeling like quite a noob. Thankfully I chanced upon Island Scuba and Shan, who made the refresher and the dives that followed extremely comfortable. Friendly and very professional The only 5*PADI dive center, established since 2012 in Dehiwala, Island Scuba is a professional dive center. Island scuba offers a wide range of training and specialities from DSD till dive master training. Island scuba is providing Nitrox on permanent basis. Island scuba instructors and dive masters are speaking English, French, Sinhala, Tamil.Fun dives are wonderful, Colombo specificity is wreck diving. You can dive more than 15 differents wrecks with island Scuba. Island scuba is a family dive center with qualified diving professionals.

great dive center, poor vis at the sites everything about the dives were excellent except the visibility, ( I guess weve been spoiled by the red sea) , but we were greeted by a really friendly knowledgeable and professional team, offering us a relatively flexible choice of dive sights we wanted to visit, we discussed the dive plan, drank tea,k kiitted up and set off in our boat after helping to push it into the surf. we headed for the medhufaru wreck arrived about 20 or so mins later, but unfortunately had to head for an alternate wreck as there were fishing boats there ewhich apparently have priority, we dove on 'cargo' had a 1 hour or so break and then 'thermopylae' both were teeming with abundant marine life and shoaling fish but were hampered by poor vis. regardless the vis, and the detour we enjoyed the dives and or talks with dylan the dive master. all told a very excellent dive center i would happily recommend.

Is Colombo suitable for beginners?

The dives in Colombo are typically deeper than 20m – so we do recommend that divers have an Advanced Open water Card and Nitrox in order to dive them. However, there is nothing inherently difficult or very challenging about these sites – so even if you are a recently certified Open Water diver, these sites represent a great way to improve your skills and get used to diving a little deeper – especially when combined with our great deals on the Advanced & Nitrox courses. So from that point of view, any certified diver can dive these sites.

What's the Colombo diving like?

The main attraction in Colombo are the many wrecks, ranging from WWI armed merchantmen to modern freighters, tugboats and barges. Most of the wrecks are a bit deep with profiles between 20-30m and are exposed to strong currents so these are suited for divers with Advanced Open Water certification or above. Now, that doesnt mean that these are all tech-style dives: these wrecks are encrusted with colorful coral and have a staggering density of marine life (thanks to the wrecks catching nets, trawlers avoid them). So you could dive them for the wrecks, or you could dive them for the coral and the fish. Best of both worlds! The vis varies from between 8m to 15m, usually – not the greatest in the world, but not the worst either and more than enough to see lots of Cool Stuff. On some of the outer sites visibility exceeding 20m is not uncommon

Do you have nitrox?

Yes we do. In Colombo, not only is nitrox strongly recommended on most dives, but it also may be mandatory on some dives, in order for us to help manage groups. In Trincomalee, nitrox is available as an option, but we may require the entire group to be on the same mix, in order to help us manage the groups.
